That client you are talking about is L2TP/IPSEC client.

I have done a connection using the windows client but with a Cisco Concentrator:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2284/products_configuration_example09186a0080094aca.shtml

For a router check:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6350/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00804dfa69.html

The main problem is that if you are behind a NAT/PAT device the L2TP (that checkes the header) will discard the packets. It appears IOS 12.4 corrects that.

Please rate if this helped.

It should work, but I have not done it personally. I have seen documentation from Linksys that shows how to configure Microsoft IPSEC to do a remote access VPN tunnel to a Linksys VPN router as they don't have their own client (or at least didn't). I think the model was a BEFVP41 or something like that, so it might be worth downloading the manual off their website and looking throught it. HTH
