Problem with Mac OSX VPN Client 4.9

I've got one user that is having problems making connections with his VPNClient. The log shows:

13 09:13:24.810 05/05/2006 Sev=Critical/1 CVPND/0x43400012

Unable to bind to IKE port. This could be because there is another VPN client installed or running. Please disable or uninstall all VPN Clients other than the Cisco VPN Client.

He say's that he's never installed another client. Has anyone else ever seen this problem?

Hello Timothy,

have the user try the following:

Close the Cisco VPN client, open up the Terminal in /Applications/Utilities and type in these commands:

cd /etc/CiscoSystemsVPNClient/Profiles

ls

pico .pcf

Once pico has opened up, scroll to the bottom (Control-V) and enter this line:

UseLegacyIKEPort=0

Then use Control-O, and Control-X to save and exit the profile. Now relaunch the Cisco VPN client, and see if that makes a difference.

HTH,

GNT
