Hi,
Can anyone please help me with:
What is Remote and Local ID in VPN?
Why do we need them?
Any possible scenario where we can use them?
Regards

In IPsec VPN.
There is remote and local ID in IKE which is specifying how you're going to present yourself to the peer, you can use this to apply specific settings to particular negotiation/connection.
There are also remote and local proxy ID which is in short your traffic selectors (i.e. decide what is encrypted)

A lot of words that go nowhere. Just generalities that don't answer the question.
HOW are Local ID and Remote ID defined? Relative to the Client settings?
Is Local ID, an address local to the client or local to the VPN termination?
Is Remote ID, an address remote from the client or remote from the VPN termination?
