Reverse VPN

Experts,

I'm currently implementing appliances from Dell Secureworks and they told me the inspector appliance establishes a reverse VPN. Out of curiosity, what is a reverse VPN? What kind of impact does this have on my ASA 5515-X from a configuration perspective? Thanks

Reverse VPN

Hi,

Can't say I have heard the term before but then again that doesnt mean anything.

The first thing that comes to mind is a situation where the device you install to some network will form the VPN Connection automatically to some central location.

Do you have any documentation that mentions this thing that we could check/read?

Reverse VPN

JouniForss,

I confirmed with Dell Secureworks and that's exactly what the device does. It establishes a VPN on it's own back to their SOC. They just call it a Reverse VPN.
