Site-to-Site dynamic VPN and Remote Access from dynamic VPN

Hello together,

we have the following setup in our office network:

Cisco 2921 Router that provides IPSEC Site to Site VPN connections. As we are using routers in the field that may have a dynamic public IP the 2921 is configured so to let any ip connect to the router.

Cisco 2921 has a static public IP assigned.

What we wanted to do now is also have a remote worker vpn connection established. This yet seems to cause problems, as the users are also connecting from dynamic IPs. Any idea of how this issue can be fixed?

Thanks

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Just to clarify your requirement. You have a 2900 router with static public IP. It provides site to site VPN, and you want this 2900 router also provide remote VPN for remote users with dynamic public IP?
If that's the case, it should work fine.

Hi Lei Tian,

thank you for your reply. Does this also apply for the case when there is the following setup (one C2921 to different kind of IPSEC VPNs)

---IPSEC Site to Site-- Cisco Routers (dynamic public IP)

Cisco 2921 (fixed static public IP)

---IPSEC Remote Access-- Remote workers (dynamic public IP)

Thank you

Wolfgang

Yes, it works as long as you have one side has static public IP. If you have dynamic IP on both ends, then you have to relay on DDNS.
