Telnet Response is very slow when I telnet inside interface of the router from pptp client.

Hi all

I am connecting vpn to C1812 through pptp client.
After successfully connecting,
I can ping to the inside interface Routers but
telnet response is very slow.

I can telnet to the other host(ex. catalyst switch) on the router inside network,
It's very fast.

Can anyone help ?

in cases like this, when traffic through the box is faster than to the box, I'd check first CPU/memory usage.

Is telnet to the box also slow when going over WAN interface?

Hi,

Are you using MPPE encryption? If so, then there is a known issue with poor performance for PPTP sessions to the router itself. You can check out more details here:

Are there fixed-in version of CSCdw15713 ?

This bug has not been fixed in any versions of IOS. I would suggest you open a TAC case to have the bug re-opened so that we can fix this in our software.
