Unnumbered interface on VLAN for VPN Server

When setting up a 857 Router I set up the vpn server as unnumbered on Vlan1.

Can anyone explain the difference between selecting this option compared to "unnumbered to new loopback interface"?

Re: Unnumbered interface on VLAN for VPN Server

Hi Chris

One of the reason behind this is to preserve public ip address been wasted for different purpose.

I hope the same ip been used for some other purpose too except terminating the VPN connections...

If its not used for some other purpose then i dont think its good to have ununumbered on the interface to terminate the vpn connections.
