Using PIX's to encrypt a WAN link

We are looking at purchasing a dark fibre service between 2 data centres.

We want to encrypt all traffic flowing between the sites, but a lot of the dedicated appliances stop at 45Mb.

We use PIX's at either end, just to drive the link as a VPN, but what speeds would I get from the link ?

Hi,

Both PIX and ASA can deliver over 400 Mbps of 3DES/AES VPN throughput. (Top end models with gigabit interfaces.)

You didn't mentioned what PIX model do you use - there are big differences

PIX 501 offers 3Mbps of 3des and 4,5 Mbps AES VPN throughput:
