VPN (64 bit) connects, however Remote Desktop will not connect to host

Recently purchased a new laptop (Windows 7), and installed VPN to connect to my office computer. VPN connects, however the remote desktop cannot find the remote computer.

I also have a Home desktop (Vista), this computer DOES connect to the remote.

Here is what I HAVE done:

  • All firewalls are turned off - Laptop, home desktop, home network.
  • Remote desktop is on (like I said, my home desktop can connect)

Per another forum I have added my work server name and ip address to my laptop "hosts" file

If anyone has any answer or can lead me in the right direction I would GREATLYappreciate it.
