I have been a VPN user for a long time, in the

past couple of days have received following error

message:  Connection terminated locally by the client.

Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.

Does anyone know the reason and fix?

Try enabling Transparent tunneling.

Be sure you have also enabled IPSEC over UDP on your ASA.

Hi.

Could you please provide us the logs on the VPN Client and the Router when you try to connect to the VPN.

Cheers,

Nash.

Here are the most recent logs for VPN Client.   Keep in mind,  I was able to get into VPN with same computer for several months.  Nothing changed on computer or home network.

Seems like the VPN traffic is not even reaching the VPN server.

Has there been any changes to the VPN server end? any ISP changes both on your home end and the VPN server end?

Could UDP/500 be blocked along the path between your home network to the VPN server?

You might want to troubleshoot the VPN server end as well to see if your VPN Client traffic is even hitting the VPN server.

According to our IT dept, no changes to server and no one else has had problem with access that they know of.   I have had no changes to my ISP at home and no changes to home network, as it worked fine before last few weeks.   Have tried turning off Firewall,  tried hard wiring directly to Modem, etc.  still no luck.  It is all a mystery, have read and tried several troubleshooting tips for error message 412, with no luck.

Since other people are not having the issue, I would tend to believe that it is more an issue locally to your home network.

I would try to see if a different ISP connection works (just to rule out that it's your home isp problem), and if you can test vpn from a different machine from your home network and see if that works.

The logs that you provided from the vpn client are showing that the client tries to connect, however, there is no reply from the server. So it is definitely a connectivity issue at this stage.
