VPN Concentrator 3005 Authentication with Active Directory

Set up authentication servers as per Cisco instructions. When selecting Test for that server, I receive an error message the server did not respond. There is no routing issue, as I access the concetrator from the domain controller without a problem. Is there something that needs to be enabled on theDomain controller for this to work'?

Re: VPN Concentrator 3005 Authentication with Active Directory

Hi

On the concentrator check:

Realm in UPERCASE leters (domain name).

DNS configuration

HostName.

I did't need to make anithing on the domain controler.

You can try to authenticate using :

domain\user

Thanks for your input. This is set correctly as per your recomendations, however it still does not work. Do you have it set with NT or active directory?

Re: VPN Concentrator 3005 Authentication with Active Directory

I have set it with the Active directory, using kerberos.

Regarding the same vpn3005 and the same windows ADServer, i also test the NT conection using the tcp 445 and tcp 139. And works. ( Sincerely i don't know how the ADserver is configured ).

Re: VPN Concentrator 3005 Authentication with Active Directory

We've had a similar problem with a 3030 concentrator. We've worked around it by standing up Microsoft radius servers (IAS) in our AD domain and then pointing our concentrators at them as "NT authentication" servers (not AD). These servers then query the AD DC's on behalf of the concentrator. It works fine.
