VPN Connectivity question.

I have a PIX 501 with VPN 3000 Client configuration. The config on the PIX is very simple, the VPN tunnel from the client side to the PIX works fine. It connects and also issues the client with IP address from the configured VPN IP Pool.

But when I try to ping the server behind the PIX from the client side I get request timed out. Can someone please shed some light on this? As the client needs to connect to the server for e-mails etc.

Check your NAT (inside) 0, that you have sysopt connection permit IPSEC, If you have an access-list on the inside interface you have to allow the echo-reply in that ACL, also if you have a router on the inside try putting a static route for the client pool network pointing to the Pix.
