VPN Remote Access "peer no longer responding"

Hi,

Would anybody help me out?

My vpn client disconnected from ASA time to time and got this message "peer no long responding". Sometime my vpn client can connect a day no problem, sometime only couple of hours? But I do have connection from my PC (remote client) to the ASA server, the continuous PING from my PC to ASA never drop packet!

Looks like there is keepalive or DPD issue. Cisco says by default the vpn client send DPD every 5 second, and tiemout is 90 second! I running a debug on my client side, there is NO DPD packet send out, only receive DPD request from ASA every 20 second! Is it normal ???

I want to know the reason vpn client disconnect from peer (no responding from peer) is because the client does not receive DPD (keepalive) from ASA or ASA does not receive DPD from client ???

Can I disable DPD on ASA? The ASA only has vpn remote-access.

Thank you very much !!!!

Hi,

Maybe you can try this. I know it's a VPN 3000 doc but maybe it will help.
