VPN TIMEOUT

2 site scenario PIX(static) to PIX(dynamic)- Site A has static IP and Site B with dynamic. VPN is working fine. when there is no traffic , vpn will terminate. When a user try to access the data on SiteA, he will get the error( the drive or data is not available), it comes back when he tries the second time. i understand that the VPN takes a second to bring the tunnel back again. IS THERE ANNYWAY TO KEEP THAT TUNNEL UP ALL THE TIMES, OR AT LEAST INCREASE THE TIME so that it doesn't go down frquently".

thanks in advance

Check the idle-time out parameters.Normally the default is about 1800 seconds..clearly someone must have altered these settings in your case. (e.g VPNGROUP STATIC idle-time 1800)

What kind of configuration are you using.

is that static crypto map at one side and dynamic crypto on the other?

Or is this ezvpn scenario?

In ezVPN use the VPN clint idle timour setting as with the Cisco Secure VPN client.
