VPN Tunnel Access to Multiple Subnets ASA-5505

jayangus7
Level 1
Level 1

Greetings,

We have spent quite a bit of time trying to configure our ASA-5505 to allow us to TUNNEL into a few different subnets.  Subnets include 192.168.1.0 / 192.168.2.0 / 192.168.10.0

Would someone be about to review this running configuration and point out where we have gone wrong.   When I connect via the VPN Client, I can access the 192.168.1.0 network, no problem.  But fail to reach the other two.   Thank you very much.

Result of the command: "show running-config"

I see two problems:

1. Your ASA doesn't have an inside route to the non-local inside networks. You need to add:

route inside 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

route inside 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0

...specifying your gateway address for those networks.

2. The statement "access-list vpn_splitTunnelAcl standard permit 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0" only sends a route for 192.168.1.0/24 to your client. You need to add entries for the other two networks.

Thank you so much for taking a look at our config.   I'll give these a try tomorrow morning.

Cheer's!

Jay

AMAZING!   Again!   Thank you so much for taking time to review our configuration.   I made the adjustments you suggested and everything worked just like it should.

Very Respectfully,

Jay

We have this same problem. We can VPN into our network and see anything on 192.168.0.0/24, but not on 192.168.2.0/24. However, we have defined a route to 192.168.2.0/24, and we have the access-list specified for both 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.2.0. I have attached the running-config for review, in case anyone can help with this. Thanks.

For hmorris709:

Have a look at your NAT statements (excerpted below):

nat (inside, outside) source static CorpLANs CorpLANs destination static Dallas Dallas no-proxy-arp route-lookup
nat (inside, outside) source static any any destination static corp corp no-proxy-arp route-lookup
nat (inside,outside) source static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.0.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.0.0_24 destination static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 no-proxy-arp route-lookup
nat (inside,outside) source static CorpLANs CorpLANs destination static obj_remote obj_remote no-proxy-arp route-lookup

The third one exempts 192.168.0.0/24 going to your 192.168.10.0/24 VPN clients from NAT but you do NOT have a corresponding one for the 192.168.2.0/24 network.

Add that in as follows:

object network NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.2.0_24
 subnet 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0
 nat (inside,outside) source static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.2.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.2.0_24 destination static NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.10.0_24 no-proxy-arp route-lookup

Also make sure that the 192.168.2.0 gateway knows to route traffic back to 192.168.10.0 VPN clients via the ASA inside interface of 192.168.0.202.
