vpn using domain name

hi friends,

is it possible to create vpn in asa 5500 series using peer as FQDN name without ip address.

because it is possible in linksys rvo42

so i need help on this matter

Yes, it is possible.

You need to configure the tunnel-group with the name of the peer, and make sure that is what the peer is sending down.

Also, use crypto isakmp address hostname - I would try with auto first, as that should automatically pick up on it being hostname.

i want to try site to site vpn having both side dynamic ip.

instead of ip i want to use ddns name

is it possible ?

I don't think there is an example link for that. You may have to go through trial and error and see what works eventually. Once you have the configuration, paste it here, and I'll see if it looks alright.
