Hello --
We are using VTIs in a hub and spoke configuration that are statically configured on the routers. When there is no traffic traversing through the tunnel, the tunnel goes down every 60 minutes for approximately 20 seconds and then it comes back up again. When there is traffic going through the tunnel, the tunnel does not go down. Is there a way to keep the tunnel up even when there is no traffic? We have tried the following commands but so far it has not been successful.
Under global configuration:
crpyto isakmp keepalive 60 10 periodic
Under the Tunnel interface:
keepalive 60 10
Thanks for your help..

Run a routing protocol over the VTI. Its updates should always keep the tunnel up.
