Hi The 1841 Data Sheet says this is not rack mountable. Is this wrong ? Can this chassis have an optional rack mount kit?

When I first looked at the 1841 the information was that it was not rack mountable. Now the product information indicates that there is an optional Rack Mount Kit with part number ACS-1841-RM-19=

Look in this link:

Hello,

May I know my Cisco 1841 doesn't have the rack-mount screw holes, Can I buy the optional Cisco 1841 rack-mount kit (ACS-1841-19-RM=) to make it rack-mountable?

Thanks!

I just deployed an 1841 today.

The problem is the chassis isnt wide enough to go from one side of the rack to the other. There are also no holes on the sides to mount special ears.

You can always just place the chassis on a rack mountable tray. It comes with those pads you can stick on the bottom of it. Thats what I did.

The 1841 can be rack-mountable with kits. I have three 1841 routers and have purchased kits to use them in a rack.

For First Generation 1841s:

For Second Generation 1841s:

I ordered from the company above and had no problems with my transaction. This was the first time I had purchased from them as well.

Since this is one of the first results on Google for "Cisco 1841 Rack Mount", the correct answer is the CISCO 1841 V03 and above are rack mountable. Cisco added screw holes for rack mount ears (ACS-1841-RM-19).

Older models of the 1841 (V01 and V02) are not rack mountable except with a rack shelf Cisco designed specifically for that and a few other routers. Unfortunately, this shelf is not only a lot more expensive, but is slightly taller than 1 RU so you can't mount it in between other routers.

100% rack mountable.  The problem is finding the brackets.  Amazon has 1 listing with 1 available.  This router is approximtely 13.5" wide, so 12.6" rack kits for a 19" rack wont work.  There are some listed on Ebay.  I'm still looking for an affordable solution.  I have 6 of them that need wings in a high school lab.
