Would you mind posting the exact configuration you are trying to create on your 1841? PPPoE can be, to my best knowledge, enable on an Ethernet or ATM interface either as a client or in access concentrator mode, but I do not remember seeing any configuration on a VPDN interface (whatever that interface may be).
I am configuring my router to replace an ADSL router supplied by our ISP, one of the steps involved was to enable Virtual Private Dialin Networking (VPDN) I mistakenly referred to it as an interface. one of the steps within this was to enable PPPOE but this option was not available to me.
I subsequently found that this is no longer neccessary in the version of the IOS I am running, I simply need to enable PPPOE on the ethernet inerface and point it to the dialer interface which holds the parameters of the connection.
Thanks for the reply, I hope this info is useful to others.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
