Hi...I am pretty clueless on Cisco (know basic networking ) and we have a problem at work we are trying to resolve without calling a contractor ( we are a small non profit organization ).. We have a T1 line running to one of our clinics that has a 2500 router...Occasionaly that router will go down and not respond to a ping...It may go down for a few pings worth of time then respond again...We need to figure out that but also once it responds to normal pings we are unable to ping it with a packet size over 996 bytes without it timing out...Consistently 996 replies fines and 997 and above times out..This goes on for between 11 and 15 minutes once it starts responding to normal pings...SBC says the T1 is fine and not causing our issues...We have replaced the cables for the router and connections...The clients can ping out with any packet size fine during this time but it won't go higher than 996 receiving for that short period..Is there anything simple that we could try, do, look for? We will look into replacing the router ( have no spares currently ) but want to resolve anything we can before buying another one incase the problem can be fixed..Any help on what to check or look for or utilities to run would be greatly appreciated..Hope this is the right forum to post it on...
Thanks..
