2811 redundancy

My current configuration has R1's s0 interface connection to a patch panel.

However, I would like to install a redundant 2811 (R2' s0)to the same patch panel. I'm not sure if it requires a second cable or a y-cable?

The configuration should still allow the standby router to see rip updates and user traffic.

It is the serial0 interface of router.

Re: 2811 redundancy

Serial interface don't go to patch panels usually. You cannot do Y-cables with serial interfaces, and you will need a second link to feed a second router with.
