Hi,
Which image is sufficient for just using a 2821 as a backup ISP router running BGP? I don't need all the voice stuff.

IPBase supports BGP for that router.

I don't have a link to compare difference, but the feature navigator link is here:
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp
You can select the features that you want, and it will give you the different versions of software that will support it. For example, if you were to select BGP, it should show you things like "IP Base", "Advanced IP Services", "Advanced Enterprise Services", etc.
