Running IOS 15.x on a 2951. I have a laptop connected to the serial port of the 2951. We use it to telnet into our ASA 5505 for troubleshooting. I have recently done a telnet into the 5505, and issued a reload. The ASA reloaded, its e0/0 port went down came up, but the 2951 console sesstion refused to release the session it had once established to the Asa 5505. It took about 10 mins before the console prompt came back to me.
Is there any command I can put on the console port to avoid this? Yes, I can do a delayed reload on the ASA and "exit" the ASA before the reload happens. But have never had this issue. I am using putty and the Rj45 console port, not the USB one on the 2951 router.
