2960S FlexStack Setup

Hey Guys. We had a vendor previously setup our IDF room with a stack of 2960S switches. Then we have a single 2960S that is not part of that stack. We needed more ports so bought an identical 2950S switch. It is not setup at all brand new in the box. Can i just plug the flexstack cable into port 1 of each switch and turn on the new switch and it will pull down the config of the first switch and just name the ports ethernet 2/0/XX?

Currently doing a sh switch on the switch running i get this.

AV01-BD01-ACCESS01#sh switch

Switch/Stack Mac Address : 2037.06c9.ed10

                                           H/W   Current

Switch#  Role   Mac Address     Priority Version  State

----------------------------------------------------------

*1       Master 2037.06c9.ed10     1      1       Ready

2       Member 0000.0000.0000     0      1       Provisioned

So it seems it sees the current running switch as the master and provisioned for a second switch. If I just plug the other switch in will i be good to go?

Yes, if you already provisioned the switch with switch 2 provision ws-c2960s-whatever then once the stack modules are connected to each other it will join the stack.

Make sure the 2nd switch is powered off, connect the cable, then boot the 2nd switch.
