2nd IMA Interface to second carrier

I presently have a 3725 running ATM with an IMA interface to my exiting carrier. The moment I try to create a second IMA interface to a second carrier, the first one shutsdown. I have the exact same config running on another 3725, no issue. Upgraded IOS, same thing. All is as it should be, network clock select, network clock participate etc etc,, anybody seen this?

Thanks

Ray

Re: 2nd IMA Interface to second carrier

If one of the IMA shut down, you can configure two interfaces w/ same IP address. You can configure two active interface w/ same IP address.

The problem here is you need to have access to the remote router via non-IMA (e.g. 3rd connection backdoor, modem dial-up to the console or on-site) access to manual shut down 1st IMA and no shut 2nd IMA.

It should be possible but only the procedure need to be clearly stated. However, why do you not configure two different set of WAN IP address for two IMA ? You can use /30 in each pair of IMA.

Hope this helps.
