3560 booting to bootloader prompt

Hi friends,

Just wanted to share a problem that I have encountered with a Cisco 3560 image. For some reason, the IOS image got deleted. The Switch was unable to reload because there was no image.

how to sort out this?

you must boot into bootldr mode and 'xmodem' a new ios image to the device.

(many communication packages support xmodem; you will have to find a package you can use as cisco does not supply this software)

ie: hyperTerminal (ships with windows); procomm; pcanywhere...many more
