I have a cisco 3640 router and would like to bond 6 T1s in this device as a back and have a 100 MB metroethernet as a the primary connection to another site. I also want to be able to use BGP to handle the failover. Will a 3640 be able to support this configuration ?
I know if can suppor the 6 T1s but am not sure about adding the 100 mb connection in the mix.
Thank you.

Hello Lynne,
the answer is negative C3640 cannot handle an FE connection at wire speed.
Actually it can be put in crisis by 50 Mbps of traffic
see attached file
also bonding 6 T1 is probaby not supported
Hope to help

7206VXR is definitely a better choice, just make sure your NPE is at least G1 or above with enough memory.
BTW, the 7200 uses Port-Adapter.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Do you know if a 7206 vxr could handle this configuration using an 8 port multi channel T1/PRi card?
