3640 IOS

Hi,

I hv one 3640 i upload the IOS through rommon mode successfully.

now when i do the

Router#sh flash

System flash directory:

No files in System flash

[0 bytes used, 4194304 available, 4194304 total]

4096K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)

it gives the above message about IOS

as wht i understand from above that if i reload the router now it definetly doesnt comes up.

Wht shall i hv to do to rectify the same.

Hi Parvinder

Do make use of TFTP copying to copy the required IOS code onto your flash.

Once you are done with that do define the boot loader(boot system command) statement pointing the ios code file saved in your flash.

After doing the same make sure you have both the ios code in flash as well as your boot system command appears in your config.

Also make sure that you have correct config register value set in your config..

This causes the system to boot the image from default boot filename "cisco2-3600" if boot from flash fails, in your case there is no IOS inflash:

Enabling the boot system command override the default filename for booting over the network from a TFTP server.

As mentioned in earlier post, you need to upload IOS in flash from TFTP and then set the boot system command to allow router to boot from flash:
