3750 jumbo frames

Just looking for a bit of clarification on this. From what I've read, on the 3750s jumbo frames are enabled globally using the "system mtu jumbo" command. It also looks like you can specify the mtu size of specific vlans. So if you were looking to enable jumbo frames for one vlan would you set the size globally and then set the mtu for all other vlans to 1500?

Re: 3750 jumbo frames

Hi,

You will find more information here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/release/12.2_50_se/configuration/guide/swint.html#wp1993088

MTU on routed interfaces (SVI) is an egress check only and can't be higher than the system MTU. Also You can't configure the MTU per VLAN and fragmentation is not supported by the switch.

HTH

Laurent.
