I was wondering if pegging a cisco 3750 metro switch CPU at 100% would directly cause the switch to reboot? The show version reboot info doesn't illuminate much... "system returned to ROM by power-on". I see the CPU pegged at 100% however. Someone implemented GRE Tunneling on this switch, causing it to process switch a bunch of traffic. I know that's not supported... and I will have that changed, but I was wondering if 100% CPU directly makes a switch a reboot...
I have experienced highly utilized unresponsive switches in the past that required a reboot. But I don't remember one ever rebooting DUE to the 100% CPU utilization on its own.
