i am running the advanced security 15.1(2) software.

Hi,

3825 supports IPv6 but you need to change features set from security to Adv IP or Enterprise or SP.

Here is config guide.

http://www1.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipv6/configuration/guide/ip6-addrg_bsc_con_ps10591_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

conf t

ipv6 unicast-r

int x/x

ipv6 address 2001:0DB8:0:1::x/64

Thats what i thought and i looked at that document. But the commands are not there.

there is no:  ipv6 cef , or ipv6 cef distributed.

there is no ipv6 address cmd under the interface.

Re: 3825 and ipv6

are the feature set the same and what about license? the reason we had to go with security was to use parts of bgp at version 12.4.

Re: 3825 and ipv6

Hi,

It is up to the contract you have with CISCO.

You can try to download IOS from www.cisco.com/tac. Login with your CCO ID.

If your contract is good enough, you can download ADV IP from http://www.cisco.com/cisco/web/download/index.html

ADV IP will have all BGP supports, so you can download ADV IP feature set.
