3845 in rommon-no IOS

I have a 3845 that we just found, it doesnt have a flash card installed so when it boots

up it goes to rommon

rommon 7 > reset

System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(11r)T2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport

Total memory size = 256 MB - DIMM0 = 256 MB, DIMM1 = 0 MB

c3845 processor with 262144 Kbytes of main memory

Main memory is configured to 72/0(dimm 0/1) bit mode with ECC enabled

Readonly ROMMON initialized

Compact Flash: Not present

My question is-how can I change the regestry so it boots using internal memory?

I would like to see if their is an IOS image on that -is it confreg 0x2102...followed by reset?

and if there isn't an IOS on the internal memory, could I load one on there, without having to purchase

a new flash card?

ISR routers have no internal flash. You need a CF of good brand or a cisco original one.

In a pinch to boot, type tftpdnld -r, it will tell you the variables to set and you can boot from tftp server.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
