What is the diference between Catalyst 4500 and 4500-E switches?.

Most notable are the line card speed of 4500-E models supports 24Gbps while the 4500 models supports only 6Gbps.

Major difference is that the E-series chassis support the new sup6E which provides 24gbps/slot of switching capacity with the new E series line cards as against the 6 Gbps/slot supported by the 4500

SuP6E runs on centreflex technology that deliver extremely high centralized performance and configuration flexibility
