801 DSL Issuue

I have a remote site that has a cisco 801 configured and working. The router interface goes down one time each week. The two way communication between the main office and this remote site only starts working again, after teh remote site tries to log into the network. Can someone tell me why the connection will only start working when this ocurs?

Is it a vpn setup between the two sites ? What kind of vpn setup is it ? Can you paste configs on 801 ?

Building on the beginning established by Sankar I am going to guess that this might be a Dynamic Multipoint VPN. As I understand it, in DMVPN the tunnel can only be established by the remote device.

As for what is bring down the tunnel, I wonder if there is a very long SA lifetime configured.
