802.1q - VLAN Id of multiple ports in Trunk Mode

Hi All,

Please find the below requirement.

Requirement- customer wants a pooled internet bandwidth at multiple locations.

Scenario:-

AccessRouter -- Access switch.

There is 802.1q trunk between router & switch, switch is working as L2.

is it possible to bring 10mb ethernet last miles on same switch and configured them into same 802.1q vlan?

A pooled bandwidth can be configured on router for all 4 last miles.

Pls share your feedback.

Hi,

you cannot have multiple ethernet links to a switch in the same vlan, or better said, you need to configure etherchannel.

Easier would be to bring the links to a router, and not to a switch.
