837 Router config

Router config help.

---Router----Firewall-----Lan

Router ext interface Telstra (ISP) WAN IP (165.x.x.x) router internal interface Public ip (203.x.x.x), firewall ext interface public ip (203.x.x.x).

ISP (Telstra) already add route from 165 to 203.

Firewall doing NAT, I just want Router to pass all traffic through.

If some one have similar config please post.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 837 Router config

Hi,

If your router just need to send all traffic from your firewall to internet , configure a default route to your wan ip

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Exit-interface Isp-endWan-ip

eg.

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0/0 165.1.1.2

S0/0 -- exit interface

165.1.1.1 --- ur end

165.1.1.2 --- ISP end

Re: 837 Router config

Hi Venesh,

what do you mean by "S0/0 -- exit interface"

is it just getting out of interface config.

I have configured similar way, to test, I should allow icmp? does it need access list.

Cheers

Kolla

Re: 837 Router config

Hi Kolla,

Here I have just taken a serial link as an example of a exit interface , it may be ethernet also .

By default , there is no restrictions in the router and icmp is all allowed .

If you require to block any traffic based on ip or ports then you can configure a access-list
