I need help configuring a 870 series router. how do i configure a user name what are the commands?? i need to be able to login with a user name when i am configuring the router from a pc!!

Hi thanks for your help. that did not work!!
when i boot up it comes to the router hostname then i hit enable and it only asks for a password. I need it to ask for a username and password??

Changed the first command a little bit.
username xxxx priviledge 15 password yyyy
enable secret aaaa
service password-encryption
Line console 0

Yes you have to enter those commands so the router will use the local username and password configured on the router.
