877 and DMVPN

Hi guys,

I appear to having a lot of issues qwith 877's. This paticular one is really annoying. If anyone could help i would appreciate it.

I setup one 877 on a hub site with the SDM standard DMVPN setup. This works fine.

i went to the remote site and configured the 877 there with SDM for DMVPN also. I have done this coutless times before without issue.

However it appears that when i ping from the router to thwe hub site i am getting errors. see below. It also appears that the GRE keepalives are causing the same errors to occur. The nature of the error does not sit comfortably with me. the tunnel drops out occasionally and i think performance is not as good as it should be.

D.Gold.Spoke#ping 172.16.3.201

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 172.16.3.201, timeout is 2 seconds:

!!!!!

Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 136/180/344 ms

Are you still getting the errors, with IOS on both ends being same, and 12.4.4T is as high as you can go.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I Upgraded both 877s to the latest 12.4 IOS. The errors have now stopped, but another problem has developed. I can't get traffic throught the tunnels. I can ping all host from each side for the tunnel but i can't get any application traffic through. RDP, Groupwise, nothing appears to work correctly.

I have heard a rumour that the 8xx series are being held back from distibution. I wonder if my issues and the same many others appear to be having are the cause.

All the same any thought s on the above are appreciated.

Regards

Stephen
