881G Getting Service and Configure

Have customer that we need 3G at new location.  Their company is an AT&T customer.

So we have got from distribution a 881G and it has a PCEX-3G-HSPA-US card with it.

What do you do or need to get AT&T service on this card.

You call AT&T they don't know what your talking about if you say Cisco 3G card?

I don't see a SIM slot which most AT&T device have a SIM card?

Is there somewhere special you have to call for these to get service?

Does anyone a checklist for ordering and also configuring for AT&T?

FYI, we will do DHCP with it and it will be our backup ISP on and ASA if the primary internet goes down.  We will just use a 172.30.x.x addressing between the ASA Outside-Backup interface and the 881G.

Re: 881G Getting Service and Configure

Hi! First of all you need to know APN (access point name). You can ask your 3G provider about it.

Next you will be neede to write chat-script (just like for good old telephone modem) to dial from cellular interface.

Here is good presentation from Lars Thoren about 3G in brach office:
