887 VAG losing power to Cell radio

We have 300+ 887VAG and VAMG routers out in the field running DSL and 3G.

They all work fine on Day 1, but after a while (we don't know how long) the cellular interface goes into the following state.

A shut/no shut of the controller or the interfaces does nothing.

A reboot sometimes gets it back.

What is causing the Out of oper voltage range error?????

R01#sh cell 0 radio

Radio power mode = OFF, Reason = Out of oper voltage range

Current Band = None, Channel Number = 0

Current RSSI = -110 dBm

Band Selected = Auto

Number of nearby cells = 1

Cell 1

        Primary Scrambling Code = 0xB8

        RSCP = -102 dBm, ECIO = -9 dBm

Relevent config:

Cisco IOS Software, C880 Software (C880DATA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.2(4)M3

I've discovered that test cellular 0 modem-power-cycle also brings it back online
