Hi All,

We have to switch of our Cisco 887va router over the weekend, when we come back on the Monday to switch it back on the router has reset itself or not holding the current configuration. We have to re-input the configuration each time! any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks.

The first question to ask is why you switch off your router ...

Back to your question:

1) Did you save the config? ("write mem" or "copy run start") after doing your configuration?

2) Is the config-register set correctly?

cisco#sh ver | i register

Configuration register is 0x2102

Thanks for your answer Karsten.iwen,

I've done the:

Router#copy running-config startup-config

Hopefully that will work, the company gets powered down at the weekend, to save on power.

Many thanks for your help.

remember that you have to save the config after every change to make that change permanent.
