A functional switch 3750G is not accessible via console port/SSH

Has anybody seen the following weird issue?

A switch 3750G can't be accessed via console port, the error message "

INSUFFICIENT MEMORY, TRY AGAIN LATER"

if accessed via SSH, it says "OPERATION TIMED OUT"

If accessed via CiscoWorks DFM, the alert showed "INSUFFICIENTFREEMEMORY"

Telnet is blocked. All switch functionalities are fine (including L3 fucntionality).

I don't think it is hardware issue. It looks like software issue(virus? IOS?) Anybody got any idea?

Your reply is appreciated.

Howard

Your switch is indicating that it does not have enough available memory (or a large enough piece of memory) to service the console or telnet/ssh or CiscoWorks. I suspect that there may be a memory leak or perhaps excessive memory fragmentation. The good news is that it still has enough memory to do its forwarding work, but especially if it is a memory leak at some point it may get serious enough to impact performance. Generally it takes a reload of the switch to recover from this.

Howard has posted this same question on the LAN Switching and Routing forum where it has received several responses. I suggest that any further discussion be consolidated in the LAN forum.
