This is for a Cisco 4000 series router. When you type in "copy run start," does it reboot the router/or shutdown the communication even temporarily?
Thanks

My experience of the cisco 4000 series router is that when you type copy run start it does not reboot the router and it does not shutdown the communications. Are you experiencing these symptoms?

No, I am not experiencing these symptoms. I don't want to experience them either. I just deleted a number of static routes and I want to use copy run start to save the updated configuration. But I need to make sure that the router won't shut off (a few people around here would get pretty darn angry about that!)
Thanks.

Hi,
If that is your concern, rest assured. The invocation of the command 'copy run start' is typically called 'saving the configuration' and does not result in a reload of any sort.
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.
