Access Server

I'm somewhat new Cisco and learning as we type,,,, so I built a little home lab (6 routers 3 switches) and I found I had the need to get an Access Server so I don't have to change that cable so many darn times.... So I got an AS2511-RJ (yeah i know kinda old but it works) kinda slow also,,, so I was wondering if a 2651XM with a NM-ESW-16 would work???? Would I have to use a Access Server IOS???

Thanks in advance

Hi There

No, I am afraid that the NM 16 ESW is in fact a switching module.

What you are looking for is a NM 16 A/S. This takes two Octal cables, giving you the ability to connect up to 16 devices. These show up on Ebay from time to time but can be quite expensive and new they are around $2,400.00 ish. There is also a NM 32 A/S module.

Here is a link to what you wnat on Ebay.com

I'm not sure if you require a special IOS version to use this module.
