access Token Ring from the Ethernet.

I have restarted the Cisco 4000 Router.

Then for a short period of time (1 or 2 minutes), I can access the Token Ring from the Ethernet.

After this period, it fails again.

If I restart the Cisco 4000 Router again, the same thing happens.

So I think that the Cisco 4000 Router has a problem, most likely on the TRN interface.

Is there any logging that you can check?

You didnt say if you were routing or bridging. Interface configs would be illustrative. Have you looked at the suggestions on : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2643/products_tech_note09186a0080093dc2.shtml ?

Unfortunately the 4000 router is end of engineering and you cant get TAC help on it. Im not sure if TR Port adapter for VIPs are still marketed (e.g. 75xx platform). If you could migrate to one of those it might extend the lifetime of your solution.

You can always turn on debug and parse that output for clues.

HTH. Rate it if it does,
