ACL Question

guys just a quick one.......if we add an ACL like

permit 192.168.8.0 0.0.7.255

and

permit 192.168.8.0 0.0.7.0

will it do the same thing....i know 0 mean check and 255 means ignore.....but keeping in mind will it do the same purpose....or its different????

secondly in decimal

if we have

0000 1000

0000 1110

what will be out come

will it be

0000 1000

or

0000 1001

just wanna kno wthat all one's means 1 what abt all zero's will it be 0 or will it be 1

a)

permit 192.168.8.0 0.0.7.255

and

permit 192.168.8.0 0.0.7.0

do different things although in some special cases the second could be used with the same results but no guarantees ...

b)

I don't understand what you mean

I try to guess

if these are the the same octect:

0000 1000

0000 1110

0000 0 match and must match

the last bit match and must match

0000 1000 base address

0000 0110 wildcard mask
