adding more T1's, do i need to upgrade memory

I have a 3725 with 4 t1's and we currently have 132 mb of DRAM. We will be adding another 4 T1's by adding first 2 2port wic cards.

Should we upgrade our RAM on the router??

I certainly support being proactive in things like this. The output shows plenty of free memory. I would not think that you particularly need to add memory to accommodate additional T1s.

When you add additional interfaces it will require some memory for interface data structures and buffering of traffic in and out of those interfaces. And additional interfaces will probably result in higher volume of traffic being forwarded which might impact memory usage.

But addiing more T1s does not automatically mean that you need to upgrade memory. What is the memory utilization in the router currently? If you are running high on memory utilization already then it would make good sense to upgrade memory before doing the interface addition. But if there is currently plenty of available memory then you should be able to add T1s without requiring a memory upgrade.

Please let me know if this will show the memory utilization. We never had a memory utilziation problem. Just trying to be proactive.
