Alcatel and Cisco OSPF

hi All,

We run OSPF between Alcatel and Cisco 3560. Cisco 3560 router is stuck in the INIT/DROTHER state. We capture packets from those two routers and find out that Alcatel router does not send Cisco 3560 Router ID back to 3560.

is there anyone know how to fix this issue?

Try disabling LLS capability on the 3560 with the following command:

router ospf 1

no capability lls

This should fix the issue as Alcatel doesn't support LLS.

Good one, Harold.. I'd forgotten that Cisco had re-used the External-Attributes bit in the Options field for LLS !
