Annoying Issue with DMVPN tunnel connections

Good morning. I have been suffering through an issue with our DMVPN tunnels for the last year or more and finally decided to try and get some help.

The issue is if a tunnel goes down it does not always recreate itself automatically. I need to telnet to the routers serial interface and do the following command on the tunnel interface. "no tunnel key 10000" then I put the tunnel key back in and the tunnel gets created.

I am looking at rolling this out across many different sites if I can solve this issue.

Hardware at the remote sites are 1711 router with IOS 12.3(7)XR6 and the headend router is a 3825 with IOS 12.3(11)T9.

The remote site is working with a static ip asigned to its outside ethernet interface.

Thanks for all the help.

Thus your configuration have more than one tunnel interface using the same tunnel source address?

Re: Annoying Issue with DMVPN tunnel connections

Right this location has a subnet routed to one location and all other traffic back here to corp.
