Hi all
I'm wondering if header compression is inherited by the subinterfaces for an atm interface as the command of ip tcp header-compression is not availible for the atm subinterface like that of a serial or frame relay interface.
How can i configure this?

There is no standard for header compression over ATM (aal5snap encapsulation), so I guess this is the reason it is not implemented.
However, if you was to run PPP over the ATM, I think you could use most of the header compression choices:
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

I was able to configuring header compression on the parent interface, would this be inherited by the subinterface?

I don't think so, most likely the command is accepted because of a bug.
